Performance in Prima Mater
A collaborative performance with 11 dancers was held in the earthworks/amphitheater in April, 1990. The original musical score was composed by artist Sandy Corley, and the choreography was created by Ron Frasier. The creation of the rammed earth sculpture was a part of a large, artist-initiated project, "Re-thinking the Sacred Image", which featured a symposium with national speakers & 3 visual arts exhibits, along with the site construction and performance in the amphitheater. Thomasine Bradford and I were co-directors of this project, which was funded by local, state, and national grants.
