Encaustic painting is an ancient process, mixing beeswax with paint, and then fusing each layer of the artwork with heat from a heat gun or small torch. I often enjoy making my artwork more dimensional by first pouring the heated wax over sections of the painting, and then painting with oil paints that have been mixed with beeswax and encaustic medium.
